Wild Southend, sparrows, 2018
Marine Parade, bottom of Southchurch lookin East
Marine Parade looking West
Apparently sparrow populations in the UK have plummeted over the years, not noticed it so much myself, seem to see and hear plenty in gardens, hopping about rooftops, in and out of hedges and bushes, on telephone lines just as normal.
Maybe a bit out of the ordinary, this recording is from Southend seafront, there’re not many trees down there but this one, you could hear the birds in it from the other side of the road, it was about 1.45 and I presume there’re plenty of pickings down there for a hungry sparrow.
