Foxearth is a small village in the north of Essex, and I must admit, I’d never heard of it until recently. Mr G.Hastie made an extensive study of the village in his epic work mentioned above, over the course of one year. Unfortunately I didn’t have a whole year in which to capture the essence of the place, but I did have a few hours.
It wasn’t long before I heard lots of bird call from a tree next to the Old School House, so I set up on the pavement and started to record. You can hear my short conversation with the postman, and a bit later I had another short exchange with a pedestrian about the handsome building.
Mr. Hastie documented each and every building in the village in A Year in Foxearth, so I’ll endeavour to find out more about it.
