Thaxted Windmill, 2016
As I travelled about the county I had noticed that the further west I travelled, the lower the aeroplanes were. On the Dengie they are mostly very high, and, even though you can hear and see them, they are more distant. In Thaxted however they are much lower, and you can make out liveries and landing gear. A chap in the church (who didn’t want me to record his organ playing) informed me that the planes use the church as a marker to align for the runway, and it certainly showed here, as at points you could see several aircraft behind each other away to the east. Also in the background you can hear some children playing with the horses in the next field.
