Interviews with Peter Cook and Peter Wilkin, Joint Managing Directors of Wilkin & Sons, jam producers in Tiptree, Essex (SA 19/1/63/1 Part 1). The directors explain the steps taken to ensure the highest quality of jam. The process starts with using only the best fruit, such as the Little Scarlet strawberry grown only on their own farm.
Peter Wilkin is still the Chairman of the company, and the soundscapes of birds in fields and the hum of machinery in the background are probably much the same today. However, will the sounds of the site change in the future?
This recording was produced by Dennis Rookard for the British Tourist Authority.
