Wheat blowing in the wind, one week before harvest.
Wheat fields near Wickham St.Paul
Fields, nr Wickham St.Paul
It is very peaceful in this neck of the woods. So quiet that I didn’t see another human being for three whole days. Then I went for a walk across the fields to Wickham St. Paul and back the longer way round. It wasn’t an epic walk, by any standards, but a really tranquil one, with only two cars and three pedestrians passing me the whole time. On the way back I saw four roe deer. I also sat in the middle of the fields with the sun beating down on me for a while. Just the tonic!
I returned a while later to record the wind blowing the crops around and sat for even longer, listening, and watching the beetles go about their business.
