1950 Bedford Duple OB, The Compasses, Pattiswick, 2016

I went on an impromptu road trip with friend and photographer Niki Cornish to The Compasses public house in Pattiswick. It was a lovely drive between the wheat fields and beneath a dark foreboding sky.
When we arrived, there was a beautiful 1950 Bedford Duple OB 27 seater ‘Toast Rack’ coach (owned by Lodge Coaches) in the car park. The driver was waiting for one more passenger in readiness to close the door. I just had enough time to get permission and start recording before they boarded, the driver started her up, did a 5 point turn, honked his horn and drove away down the lane with his wedding guests on board. I had to run to get a better position to record him drive off into the distance, which is plainly evident from the recording.
