St. Mary's Church, Little Easton, 2018

In the tranquil village of Little Easton is the even quieter, and rather cool, church of St. Mary’s, and I spent 20 minutes or so sitting on one of the pews, listening and thinking. The only sound source from within the space was the church clock in the tower, which travelled right up to the altar at the other end of the building. Exterior sounds were mostly filtered out with only the low frequencies of aircraft intruding into the peace inside. The first recording here is with the mic positioned in the nave near the altar, the second near the door beneath the wooden floor above which is the clock.
