Train approaching shore terminus at Southend pier
Lee Scott
Recorded on a sunny and breezy day, around 3.50 in the afternoon.
This was recorded directly under the pier, the public path that the council once tried to block off. The recording is from the sea side, with the recorder up in the girders to try and get out of the wind. The voices are from the path, possibly sitting on the embankment bit, doing whatever it is teenagers do.

This was one of the sounds that people mentioned when we were asking what Essex sounds like: the clatter of the train on the Southend pier. Thanks!
