Cricket match, Broomfield vs Woodham Mortimer, 2016

Recording in response to a suggestion by a member of the public, Gary Hill, whom I spoke with whilst on location in Finchingfield earlier in the year – as well as several people surveyed who suggested cricket as a typical sound of Essex.

Another summer’s day spent relaxing in the sunshine, watching the Broomfield vs Woodham Mortimer 1st XI match. Woodham were in to bat first and their side had quite a lot of banter from the sidelines, and some warming up, which you can hear in the first recording. The second recording was from the far side of the pitch, where you can hear more of the players’ calls and actions.
