Chrishall Primary School, 2016
A recording in response to Higher Level Teaching Assistant Alex Porter contacting us to say that they would like to contribute to the project.
Unfortunately Alex couldn’t be at the school when I visited. But the responsible job of organising the children was left to two of the pupils. They had been practicing for some time and, after the rain had cleared, and dinner had been eaten, we headed out onto the playground. Naturally, other children gathered round and were inquisitive as to what we were doing, and some joined in to make the group even bigger.
They children sang three familiar playtime songs, ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’, ‘Ring-a-Ring o’Roses’ and ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’… which becomes a rather tenacious earworm whenever I hear it. Our sing-song only came to a halt when the bell was rung for the end of dinner time… boo!
