Wilkin and Sons Ltd

The Wilkin and Sons Ltd jam factory is an iconic part of Essex, so much so that the jam is often known as Tiptree jam after the village where their main factory is based. Preserves have been made on that site by the Wilkin family since 1885. How much have the soundscapes changed over time?

We do not have any sound recordings of the early years, but here you can compare recordings made on site thirty years apart.
