A summer low, 2016
A familiar sound all around the coast, rivers and creeks of Essex, ropes slapping against the masts of dinghies. This is from Thames Estuary Yacht Club during the recent spell of very windy weather. They have a jetty and quite a new club house on The Western Esplanade in Westcliff.
You hear voices of a little group of men coming away from the now Genting Casino, the roaring of the almost high tide waves under the jetty, and the ropes tapping away in the wind.
This was recorded about 2.10am; the casino is open 24 hours.
The image of boat masts is by Hans.
