River in Highwoods Country Park, 2016
Recorded at around 4:00 pm whilst on a walk in Highwoods Country Park with photographer Joe-Elliot Purtell. Microphones were configured in a 110 degree ORTF stereo array.
I often used to walk past this site on the way to work, and experienced it getting built. Just a bit further up river, an artificial concrete dam was built that routes this river through, and it expands onto a larger river. I think this river is linked to the one heard in the ‘trickling stream’ recording.
The paramotors are still flying above our heads and the birds, the river, and the sounds of the paramotors combine to form a general overview of all the sounds heard from the other recordings made that day. A woman also is heard walking along the path, metres away from where I was standing.
