The millionaire lifestyle - Chalkwell Beach, 2016
Imagine you’ve won the lottery. Obviously what you do is get yourself a beach hut and a yacht. You take an early morning trip to your beach hut, on Chalkwell Beach, the east end. The huts there are simple fibreglass boxes sitting on planks with gaps between them you can see through, so the hut must act like a sound box with the waves coming ashore a few feet in front (as it was high tide) onto a sand and shingle beach.
After a short stay in your beach hut you take yourself off along Chalkwell Esplanade and The Cinder Path to the Leigh Sailing Club jetty and slipway. Here the waves break onto the hard seawall underneath the jetty, creating a different sound to listen to as you prepare the tender to row out to your yacht, and marvel at the simple pleasures of being a millionaire.
Recorded at 5.00am-ish.
