Hamford Water, 2016
After visiting Beaumont Cut last year (represented here) and going for a walk along the edge of Hamford Water, I knew it was a very calm and beautiful place. But that was in December, so I was keen to experience this place on a hot summer’s day.
Island Lane was rather narrow and bumpy, but that added to the excitement of going somewhere new and out of the way. At the end of Island Lane (the map says it continues out to Horsey Island, but apart from the slipway there was no evidence of that as the tide was in) is a small jetty, so I positioned the mic at the end, walked back to the land and let it record for 10 or so minutes. During this time I soaked up the atmosphere, looking, listening and feeling, and really enjoyed the calm, quiet and warmth.
On the way back I noticed another road beside the one I’d originally taken which seemed to be somewhat less potholed.
